In an industry filled with ambiguity, SUZY BOGGUSS remains one of the rare artists who have managed to walk the line between critical acclaim and commercial success. In the 90's Suzy recorded nine albums for Capitol records, including one platinum and three gold sellers. Her string of country radio hits includes eight top-10's. She's won CMA and ACM awards, as well as a Grammy for her contribution to Beautiful Dreamer, The Songs of Stephen Foster. Internationally acclaimed Australian singer/songwriter and guitar wizard GEOFF ACHISON returns to the stage tonight with his soulful, gravelly vocals and upbeat rendition on traditional blues. Years of touring, recording and relentless gigging has seen him share stages with scores of artists including Jorma Kaukonen & Hot Tuna, John Mayer, Levon Helm (of The Band) Hubert Sumlin, Clarence Gatemouth Brown + Aussies Tommy Emmanuel, Dutch Tilders, Phil Manning & Jeff Lang. KATE CAMPBELL is not only one of the premier country/folk/gospel songwriters, she's also an eloquent storyteller. With over 11 CDs to her credit, she's worked with some of the biggest names in the business. Her music's been featured on NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered, and on Mountain Stage. Originally from Sledge, Mississippi and the daughter of aBaptist preacher, Kate's formative years were forged by the Civil Rights movement of the 60's and those indelible experiences continue to inform her music.
Listen:
CAROLINE HERRING's music has been hailed for combining traditional sounds with striking, original observations into modern life and love. The Austin Chronicle proclaimed her album 'Lantana' to be "the best modern Southern Gothic album since Lucinda Williams' "Sweet Old World." On 'Golden Apples of the Sun,' her latest release on Signature Sounds, Herring stakes out new terrain, exchanging the country-influenced sound of her previous albums for a darker, hauntingly personal sound inspired by the iconic female folk singers and songwriters of the 1960s and 70s. In May of 2010, Herring performed at the fabulous Fox Theater, as one of the main acts, on Garrison Keillor's infamous Prarie Home Companion.
Listen:

LA's CLAIRE HOLLEY is a southern songwriter with an expressive, gentile voice. This Mississippi native and nationally touring artist has been consistently praised in magazines such as Paste, Performing Songwriter and Dirty Linen. One of her songs was recently featured in an episode of ABC's Men In Trees, and she recently wrote original music for the play See Rock City - music which won awards from the magazine LA Weekly. Her most recent CD was a collaboration with Attic favorite Caroline Herring. Her music is a true reflection of acoustic folk.

RODNEY CROWELL has had a long and varied musical career.  He formed the band The Cherry Bombs, and later released Diamonds and Dirt and generated five number one hits, one of which was a duet with his then wife, Roseanne Cash.  He has won a Grammy and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.  His latest album, Sex and Gasoline, is an entire album written about or from the perspective of a woman.  This is classic music at its best, and a show you won't want to miss.

For almost 20 years, every Monday night, we've been hosting a SONGWRITER'S OPEN MIC. On any given Monday, you'll get to hear some touring performing songwriters, some local touring songwriters home from the road, some local songwriters that don't tour, some up and comers working on their chops, some amateurs that will never tour, and sometimes, someone that you can look back and say I heard them when...but be guaranteed, it'll be an entertaining evening! And for $5, probably one of the greatest entertainment values in the land. For more information on playing at our Open Mic, visit the "Artist Info" page of our website.

Texas born JAY BRANNAN knew from an early age that he didn't really want to fit in with those surrounding him. He pursued a degree in acting from the University of Cincinnati, but soon realized that real life can sometimes be a better teacher than any you'd find at a college. He's lived in California and New York, playing his music and writing songs and even dabbling in some acting along the way. He has released three albums, two of original music and one of cover songs and has played shows in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, South Africa, and Australia, among others. The New York Times said, "his tenor voice makes even the saddest lyrics easy on the ear." He has been called "the male Joni Mitchell" by Gen Art Pulse, and The Huffington Post proclaimed "Perhaps if Nick Drake, Janis Ian and Liz Phair all were mixed up in a blender you'd get his sound and songwriting skills."

MATT HIRES works as a cabinet store worker by day and a musician by night. His music caught the ears of Atlantic Records A&R executive, Gregg Nadel, and soon he began working with producer Eric Rosse (Sara Bareilles, Tori Amos, David Archuleta), who helped him fine-tune his songwriting. He released his debut EP, "Live From the Hotel Cafe," under F-Stop Music/Atlantic Records, and followed it up with "Take Us To The Start" last year. His songs have appeared on Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
